Micro-needling is a proven method of improving the texture of your skin, and delivers long-lasting results. eDermastamp is a compact electric unit for micro-needling the skin and can deliver 50 to 150 skin-pricks per second. But don’t worry because the pricks are painless. The six micro-needles are made from top medical grade stainless steel.
eDermastamp treatment stimulates cells and helps in the production of new collagen fibres. The skin, or epidermis, is thickened and becomes more transparent, and with repeated micro-needling sessions the overall texture of your skin is improved.
The use of a micro-dermaroller gives your skin a healthy glow and transparency. It unblocks the sebaceous glands in the skin and helps to reduce spots, large unsightly pores, and oily blackheads. It also stimulates the renewal of skin cells which ultimately rejuvenate the skin. It’s a proven treatment for skin scarring, however more than one session will be needed every 6 weeks or so.
Skin needling stimulates natural collagen production for stunning skin rejuvenation
One of the main reasons that our skin starts to show the signs of ageing is depleting stores of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid within its structure. Medical skin needling is an exciting treatment option because it works by harnessing your body’s innate healing process to stimulate the natural production of new collagen and elastin.
Here at HSA Dermal Clinic, we use the eDermastamp® – this is a handheld electronic stamping device that utilises a single-use tip of microscopic needles to stamp vertical channels into your skin to increase skin stimulation, create instant hydration with hyaluronic acid, and infuse your skin with stimulating ingredients.

Medical skin needling FAQs
Skin needling treatments with the eDermastamp take approximately 80 minutes to administer, depending on the area being treated.
We will clean and sterilise your skin, and then apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the treatment area; this should make the procedure comfortable and painless. Once your skin is numb, we will pass the tip of the eDermastamp over your skin to create tiny little channels or injuries within your skin. These injuries are so small that they will close quickly and leave your skin looking flushed, which is the best indication that the treatment has worked.
You should see some improvement to your skin after a single treatment. However, most people find that they need a course of skin needling treatments for best results. We usually recommend four to six treatments four weeks apart for collagen production and skin rejuvenation, and six or more treatments four weeks apart to improve the appearance of scars, including acne scars.
You should begin to notice positive changes to your skin approximately one week after your treatment, although it will take between six and eight weeks for you to fully see the changes brought about by new collagen production.
After a course of treatments, you should continue to see improvements to your skin tone and texture for six to 12 months.
Medical skin needling is widely recognised as a safe procedure with minimal risks and side effects because it relies on stimulating the body’s natural healing process. The eDermastamp uses a disposable single-use tip with each new treatment to ensure that there are no risks of cross-contamination.
As we’ve mentioned above, medical skin needling is associated with a low risk of side effects. You should expect your skin to look flushed for a couple of hours post-treatment – a bit like sunburn; you may also notice some pinprick spots of blood and bruising. Your skin may feel warm, tight and itchy for roughly 12 to 48 hours.
Less frequently, some people do experience minor flaking, skin dryness and scab formation. Hyperpigmentation (darkening of patches of skin) occurs very rarely and usually self-resolves within a month.
Do let us know if you have a history of cold sores, so we can give you medication to prevent an outbreak.
When you come in to HSA Dermal Clinic for a skin needling treatment, we will give you detailed aftercare instructions. It’s important that you follow our recommendations to enjoy the full benefit of your treatment.
We may recommend that you:
Use tepid water to cleanse your skin for the first 48 hours post-treatment, and dry the area gently without rubbing
Wash your hands well before touching your skin in the treated area
Avoid wearing make-up for 12 hours, although some mineral make-up may be suitable
Apply any prescribed skincare products as advised
Apply a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30+ before leaving the treatment and when going outside after the treatment
Although a quick search of Google shows that it’s possible to buy skin needling devices to use at home, we would strongly recommend that you seek treatment through an experienced aesthetic practitioner to ensure that the skin needling device is used properly, at the right depth and pressure for your individual needs.
Professional, medical-grade rollers or automated devices that give truly effective results should only be used by qualified doctors, surgeons, nurses and independent pharmacist prescribers.
