The Perfect Derma Peel, with its mixture of highly effective ingredients, delivers a great skin peel after only one treatment. As well as reducing the effects of hyperpigmentation and melasma, it also removes fine lines and wrinkles. With very little in the way of after-effects, a Derma Peel is practically painless and non-invasive. Peeling happens over 3 to 6 days and thereafter your complexion will appear smoother, revitalised, with a glowing luminescence.

Depending on your skin type and skin problem, you may need 2 or 3 treatments with a gap of around 4 weeks in between. During the procedure, there may be a slight burning sensation, or tingling, but this disappears after around 60 seconds. The Perfect Derma Peel only takes 15 minutes to complete and immediately afterwards your skin will redden a little, like a mild sunburn. The Derma Peel treatment can also be applied to the neck, upper chest and hands and to remove acne and acne scars.

VI Peel for Sun Damage and Hyperpigmentation Treatment

Sun damaged skin occurs as a result of extreme or long-term exposure to the sun’s UV, or ultra-violet, rays. It takes the form of brownish patches and/or sun spots on the hands, arms and face. Other types of sun damaged skin include lines, wrinkles and patchy dry skin.

Hyperpigmentation is a condition in which areas of the skin become darker in colour. This is caused by an excess of melanin (the pigment that produces our normal skin colour), which forms deposits in areas of the skin.

Treatments for sun damaged skin and hyperpigmentation include chemical skin peels such as three step ZO Obagi peel, VI peel precision plus – the perfect peel, Cosmelan treatment, MeLine peel and products. In our skin treatment clinic, we also use ZO Obagi skin products to treat epidermal and dermal pigmentation and these are highly effective.

Another option is micro-derm abrasion (the exfoliation of outer layers of the skin), intense pulsed light, or IPL, therapy (flashes of light from a high-energy, full-spectrum xenon lamp), and laser skin resurfacing, which vaporises the outer skin layers.

VI Peel for Skin Rejuvenation Face, Neck and Decolletage

The skin on the face, neck and décolletage, or cleavage, is fragile and delicate, and requires regular skin rejuvenation treatments. Exposure to the sun and other environmental factors can hasten the ageing process and make the skin of the décolletage, neck and face lose elasticity, and become dry and stiff.

To improve the elasticity and tone of the skin, there are a few highly effective skin rejuvenation treatments, such as volumizing dermal fillers, platelet-rich plasma therapy and micro-needling as well as mesotherapy and chemical peels. In some cases, a combination of these treatments is more beneficial.

Micro-needling freshens the skin, restores its glow and flattens and smooths out any lines and wrinkles. During the needling treatment, the skin is hydrated and treated with oils and vitamins, as well as a collagen mask.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy, or PRP, is a natural way to rejuvenate and repair skin in these areas. The plasma is injected into the epidermis, helping the cells to repair any skin damage. It also firms and rejuvenates the skin and makes it more radiant. The effects of PRP skin rejuvenation treatment last for 12 months or even longer, after having undergone three treatments.

The Cellular Matrix PRP treatment available in our skin treatment clinic combines in the same tube platelet rich plasma and Hyluronic acid (HA) which helps boost collagen, elastin and hydration.

Injections with a dermal filler improve the appearance of ageing skin in the neck and décolletage areas. Mesotherpay treatment using medical grade injectables such as mesoasthetic products like Revitacare, Cytocare and Filorga, enhances skin quality, aids in skin rejuvenation by improving texture, radiance and hydration.

VI Peel for Acne Scar Treatment

The best treatment for acne where scars are left behind is to have skin microneedling to enhance collagen production and promote healing. Another option is medium to strong chemical peels such as the VI Purify peel for scarring or the VI Purify peel precision plus for scarring and hyperpigmentation.

Another effective treatment is laser treatment or dermal filler. Laser skin resurfacing smooths out the surface of the skin and helps to increase the production of new collagen fibres. You’ll only need as little as one to three laser treatments.

Laser treatment takes two forms: Ablative laser treatment removes or vaporises the scar tissue and results in new, smooth skin growth. Non-ablative laser treatment triggers the production of new collagen, which helps to fill in acne scars.

Another acne scar treatment option is facial filler injections. These fill the hollows and indentation marks left behind from deep acne scars. However, this procedure needs to be repeated every 5 to 6 months, until the scars have cleared up.

Hyperpigmentation Chemical Peels and VI Peel for rejuvenation and hyperpigmentation

Used to remove hyperpigmentation – those age and sunspots, and dark patches on the face, neck and hands – a chemical peel is a treatment where an acid solution is applied to the skin that causes it to shed, or exfoliate, and peel off. After this kind of skin peeling, the new skin underneath is usually soft, smooth, more luminescent and less wrinkled than the old skin.

A glycolic acid peel is a common treatment for hyperpigmentation. The peel solution contains alpha hydroxy acid, which is derived from sugarcane, and is a natural, chemical exfoliant that’s water-soluble. A chemical face peel with glycolic acid is considered safe, and works by gradually peeling away the dark marks, scars and age spots that are caused by hyperpigmentation.

The common side effects of a glycolic acid peel include temporary redness, slight swelling, stinging and mild irritation, but this should clear up after two or three weeks. There are a number of different types of hyperpigmentation chemical face peels, and these include VI Precision Plus Peel, Cosmelan, Dermamelan, Zo Obagi, Glycolic and TCA

Hyperpigmentation VI Peel Precision Plus Peel with products and VI Peel for Acne and hyperpigmentation

The VI Peel Precision Plus Peel is a non-invasive procedure carried out at our skin treatment clinic in Kingston on Thames, London. It’s a safe and simple procedure that removes melasma – those brown patches on your face – as well as age and sunspots. VI Peel Precision Plus Peel is applied as a masque, and is removed after a set period of time – 5, 8, or 10 hours depending on the severity of the hyperpigmentation and your skin type.

After the masque is removed, several VI Peel skin products are applied (this follow-up treatment lasts six days with twice daily applications of specialized VI Peel ointments and creams). After seven days, the applications continue but to a lesser degree.

Most patients see significant results – dark spots and patches lighten and the tone and texture of your skin will have improved. There are times when the skin doesn’t peel, but that doesn’t mean they’re not receiving all the benefits of the VI peel – new collagen is still stimulated, fine lines and wrinkles are reduced and the overall tone, texture and pigmentation of your skin is markedly improved.

Zo Obagi Treatment for Acne and Zo Obagi Peel

Acne is caused by a number of things including hormone fluctuations, diet, stress, medications, a reaction to certain cosmetics and genetics. Most cases of acne can be treated and cleared with Obagi skin care products, together with a carefully designed daily skin care programme.

• Treatments like the 3-Step Stimulation Peel, as well as the Obagi Blue Peel, and the Deep-Pore Cleanse, are the most effective treatments for acne. Apart from reducing surface bacteria, Zo skin health products and treatments clean the pores, reduce scarring, and refresh and rejuvenate the skin.

Hyperpigmentation Zo Obagi 3-Step Stimulation Peel

The 3-Step Stimulation Peel, as well as the Obagi Blue Peel, is ideal for treating sun-damaged skin, melasma, uneven skin texture, fine lines and large pores.

First, the Obagi Peel Solution is applied to exfoliate the skin, after which the Stimulating Retinol Crème is gently rubbed on. This crème stimulates cell function and promotes new collagen, whilst also firming and lessening lines and wrinkles. Finally, the Calming Crème is applied – this reduces skin irritation, inflammation, and moisturises the skin.

The key to great results is the Stimulating Retinol Crème, which contains vitamin A. This improves and rejuvenates the overall health of damaged and ageing skin. In addition, the crème stimulates cellular function at the dermal level, whilst also repairing damage at the epidermal level.
